Nine US Firms Object to OKXICE Tokenized Shares as On-Chain RWA Equities Surge 5x to $3.5B

Broadcom, CoreWeave, and Verizon exercise SEC innovation-exemption opt-outs while on-chain RWA perpetual volume hits new highs.

Nine US-Listed Firms Object to OKXICE Tokenized Stock Plan Under SEC Innovation Exemption

Nine US public companies — including Broadcom, CoreWeave, Verizon, UnitedHealth Group, Cerebras Systems, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, and Applied Optoelectronics — have formally objected to having their shares traded as tokenized securities on OKXICE, the 50/50 joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), within two weeks of its October 4 notification to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Under the SEC's five-year innovation exemption issued on September 17, third-party venues must give issuers 30 days' advance notice before launching tokenized share trading, granting companies a 30-day window to opt out. Nasdaq also announced via an official FAQ that it will not allow its own stock (NDAQ) to trade on venues that do not report to the national consolidated tape.

On-Chain Tokenized Equities Surge 5x to $3.5 Billion

Despite issuer pushback on specific regulated notice venues,OKXICE confirmed it will proceed with dozens of blue-chip US equities including Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Tesla. Meanwhile, total tokenized equity market capitalization reached $3.5 billion on October 15 — up more than 5x from $680 million at the start of the year — while Morgan Stanley plans to support tokenized equity trading in Q1 2027.

On GaiaEx, traders already access 24/7 on-chain perpetual futures on Nvidia (NVDA-USDC), Apple (AAPL-USDC), Tesla (TSLA-USDC), Microsoft (MSFT-USDC), and Alphabet (GOOGL-USDC) with full MPC self-custody.
