VERSIONING

The GaiaEx API follows the GaiaEx Unified Futures URL versioning standard (/fapi/v1/* and /fapi/v2/*) at https://openapi.gaiaex.com.

2026-10-19 — GaiaEx Unified Futures (/fapi/v1 & /fapi/v2) Drop-In Compatibility

API & Authentication

  • Added full 1:1 drop-in compatibility with GaiaEx Unified Futures across /fapi/v1/* and /fapi/v2/* at https://openapi.gaiaex.com
  • Standardized API authentication on the X-MBX-APIKEY header with query-string / form-body HMAC-SHA256 signatures (timestamp, recvWindow, signature)
  • Added automatic server-side wallet resolution from X-MBX-APIKEY — clients never need to pass a wallet address in requests
  • Added full public market data parity: GET /fapi/v1/ping, /fapi/v1/time, /fapi/v1/exchangeInfo, /fapi/v1/depth, /fapi/v1/trades, /fapi/v1/aggTrades, /fapi/v1/klines, /fapi/v1/continuousKlines, /fapi/v1/markPriceKlines, /fapi/v1/indexPriceKlines, /fapi/v1/premiumIndex, /fapi/v1/fundingRate, /fapi/v1/ticker/24hr, /fapi/v1/ticker/price, /fapi/v1/ticker/bookTicker, /fapi/v1/openInterest, and /fapi/v1/leverageBracket
  • Added full authenticated trading & account parity: POST/DELETE/PUT/GET /fapi/v1/order, DELETE /fapi/v1/allOpenOrders, GET /fapi/v1/openOrders, GET /fapi/v1/allOrders, GET /fapi/v2/balance, GET /fapi/v2/account, GET /fapi/v2/positionRisk, POST /fapi/v1/leverage, POST /fapi/v1/marginType, GET /fapi/v1/userTrades, and POST/PUT/DELETE /fapi/v1/listenKey
  • Standardized error responses on negative GaiaEx Unified Futures error codes (-1000 through -4028)

2026-04-04 — Documentation Overhaul

Documentation

  • Added this Changelog page
  • Moved Calculator endpoints from API Reference to Reference section as "Formulas & Calculations" — added offline computation formulas for PnL, liquidation price, target price, max open position, and average entry
  • Updated Quick Start — API keys are created via the GaiaEx mobile app (Settings > API Keys)
  • Expanded Rate Limits documentation — added IP-level limits, Retry-After header details, ban escalation policy, and WebSocket recommendation
  • Added HTTP 502/503 retry guidance with unknown execution status warnings for order endpoints

API

  • Fixed POST /calculator/open-price — request example corrected to use entry_price/quantity fields (was incorrectly price/size)
  • Updated HMAC auth examples across all 10 languages to use X-MBX-APIKEY and standard /fapi/v1/* query-string HMAC-SHA256 signing
  • Fixed code generator to properly handle DELETE, PUT, and POST HTTP methods on /fapi/v1/*
  • Fixed Nginx WebSocket rewrite for /wallet/ location on ws.gaiaex.com

2026-03-31 — API Documentation Launch

Documentation

  • Launched API documentation at https://www.gaiaex.com/en_US/docs
  • 18 documentation pages covering REST, WebSocket, and account management
  • Interactive code panel with 10-language code generation
