Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I create an API key?

Open the GaiaEx mobile app → Settings → API Keys → Create. Select read or read + trade permissions and confirm with passkey/biometrics. See API Key Creation & Management.

2. Does one API key cover USDC-M Perpetuals, USDT-M Perpetuals, RWA, and Spot?

Yes. A single API key routes across all markets automatically based on symbol format: bare ticker or -USDC for USDC-M Perps (BTC), -USDT suffix for USDT-M Perps (BTC-USDT), xyz:/cash:/vntl: prefix for RWA & Venture Perps (xyz:GOLD), and TICKER/USDC for Spot (BTC/USDC).

3. Can I connect my existing quantitative trading bot or CCXT strategy to GaiaEx?

Yes — public market data endpoints (/fapi/v1/ping, /fapi/v1/time, /fapi/v1/exchangeInfo, /fapi/v1/depth, /fapi/v1/klines, /fapi/v1/ticker/24hr) and signed trading routes are 100% compatible at https://openapi.gaiaex.com. Follow the SDK & Bot Integration Guide.

4. Which programming languages are supported?

Any language capable of HTTPS and HMAC-SHA256 signing works natively. Every endpoint page in our documentation includes runnable code samples in 10 languages: Python, JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Go, Rust, C++, Java, C#, PHP, and cURL.

5. Can an API key withdraw funds from my wallet?

No. GaiaEx is 100% self-custodial. API keys only support read and trade scopes and can never withdraw or transfer collateral off-platform.
